Reviews for Inika Mineral Eyeshadow
Excellent eyeshadow. Matte. Smooth application. Lasts as long as other eyeshadows. Will buy again when I run out.
great coverage, completely safe for sensitive and dry eyes.
Amazing to find an eye-shadow this glittery, which doesn't make my eyes red and swollen. At last, I can wear party make-up again!
Again, this was one of my first purchases. I have been using it mainly as a base colour, or to add shimmer to the centre of the eye-socket when going for a stronger look. It is also really lovely washed all over the eye, applied more deeply to the eye socket, and helped out with lashings of mascara and eyeliner.
Being such a subtle colour you could probably mix it with most shades, or if you want a really strong look then all you need to do is apply thickly on top of cream eyeshadow/base. Load your brush or applicator and 'pat' on. The colour lay-down is tripled. You'll be amazed with the results. More than anything I'd just like to see people experiment and have fun. This range is all about looking gorgeous and discovering something different. Who knows? Maybe a whole new 'you' may emerge!
This was one of the first colours I bought and it blew me away when I opened the pot and saw just how gorgeous the colour was. A simple application and afterwards I had eyes which stood out and looked amazing. That was when my love affair with these products started, though it has been a while since I added to my collection. Now that Inika have gone more mainstream and this website stocks so many of their products, I am really delighted. At the time I puchased this one, I couldn't believe the vividness of the colour lay-down, or the beauty of the colour. It's another one of those ones you can't pair-down to specifically green or blue. It's a mix that changes each time it catches the light, and it makes you want to bat your eyes! I'm so glad it's still available and has not been discontinued.
This is the most amazing colour to have hit the mineral world. Is it green, is it blue, is it actually Turquoise itself? It seems to mutate in the light and the effect is mesmerising. When you're wearing this your eyes look intruiging. It blends well with gentle base colours and highlighters, especially Honeycomb on top, blending down to the Turquoise and gradually becoming darker until the eye socket is a deep, deep colour. Beautifully shimmery and yet grown up, this can be teamed with most lip and cheek colours except the most bold. Nude, peach and pink are all fine. Just no dark browns or reds as it may clash and look too 'busy'. A really good purchase to have in my colour-wardrobe :-)
OMG! The most gorgeous blue to ever have hit the make-up market. This has a depth to it like an ocean. It's a flat colour, non-shimmer, so what you get is a very 'true' colour and a dynamic effect that can't be copied anywhere else. This reminds me of forget-me-nots, even though it's a darker shade. It feels very 'organic' and fresh; a countryside colour. I could see this going well with a neutral lip and blush, tousled hair and a flowy frock for that 'I didn't bother - I'm just gorgeous' look. I feel jealous of you already! As you can tell, I adore this colour. Make-up and colours really spark off my imagination. This one is, in my mind, transformational. I love it. Might even buy a second so that I don't run out!
Gun Metal is a darker grey/silver with sparkle and depth which really pops out on your eyes. Because of this, it's great over a wash of really electric colours, such as Autumn Plum, Turquoise, Blue Steel and Midnight. It's also quite unusual mixed-out with Peach Fetish and Honeycomb. If you want to stand out for all the right reasons and make a splash at a party or 'do' then focus on your eyes; they're the windows to your soul. Keep your lips natural but beautifully kissable. Then practise your coy look and pout. 1, 2, 3, after me! Mwah! :-)
Silver or Grey? Can't quite make up my mind. The shimmer is so WOW that it gives a light and bright look. I've been mixing this with Gun Metal which is a darker version of this effect. They look amazing on their own, or together. It feels like a genuis way to achieve a new take on a seasoned party look. Also blends well with Turquoise underneath, for that unexpected flash of colour when you bat your eyes. Also a great colour to mix with Thunder for a smokey look and sultry eyes that aren't too over the top. Not the most exciting colour I've bought, but one of the most universal and useful. Can also be mixed with Peach Fetish, Honeycomb and Autumn Plum. Experiment and you'll see just how many looks can be achieved!
This is a basic staple colour to buy into. You need it for so much!
As a rock-chick look, this has amazing depth applied over cream eyeshadow/base. For eyes that are blacker than black. You need a mega dark application of mascara to follow, and strong eyeliner.
Believe me - you *need* this colour!!
Away from the Rock 'n' Roll, this shade can smoke out almost any other colour you wish to choose from. Precise lining, dark or subtle, or a gentle smoke-out; it's pretty limitless. Don't forget these shades when you make your colour choice. Figuring out what goes together to make YOUR signature look is very important. Girls who add that little something to their look are the ones who get the most stares. Make it look effortless. Spread the 'chic' around. Be an 'IT' girl for the day. It's all down to Inika!
OK so you won't turn into a pumpkin, and rules are made to be broken, so what can Midnight do for you that other shades can't?
It's the *perfect* purple. Bright and with a hint of shimmer. This screams 'expensive'. It's also one of the colours that can be blended with the most of the other shades I've got. Thunder can be used as an eye-line smoke-out. Blue Steel is the *perfect* companion, and Gun Metal and Industry make for great highlighters on the centre of the eye socket. Bring your eyes back to life & treat them to the ultimate colour!
Peach Fetish is one of those colours that you can turn either way. Are you feeling good today, or do you have a naughty streak in you?
For an innocent look, apply softly all over, whisk your lashes with brown mascara and leave the rest of your make-up neutral (or even completely au-natural if your skin is good enough you lucky thing).
But for naughty?
Add a cream eyeshadow/base to your eye socket and then pat on a good layer of the Peach Fetish eyeshadow for real depth and sparkle. Smoke out with black eyeliner and add lashings of black mascara; an all-over application the first time, and the second just to the outer two thirds because this will accentuate the amond/cat-eye look.
This can, also, (believe it or not) be teamed with Thunder. Use a small angled brush and you can use Thunder to smoke out the top and lower lashlines. You'll need to be pretty accurate with your application so rest your elbow on a table or your knee etc. and make sure you get in close to the lashes. Ensure you only apply a *teeny* amount and add more if necessary before using a cosmetic bud to gently smoke the colour upwards into the Peach Fetish, gently fading away from strong to smoke to completely blended. You'll have eyes so amazing I guarantee you won't recognise yourself!
The most gorgeous colour for party season! Just the bling factor you need. So many brands get these colour-shades wrong, and it can look as though you've been in a fight. Inika must have put some work in because this is perfect! It screams 'party' to me, and it's a smoked-out eye with a hint of shimmer. It's also fantastic for a summer bronzed look as well. I found this was beautiful washed out with Peach Fetish and a little brown eyeliner (choose a smokey shade). Gorgeous as ever; these looks really stand out!
The shade coco-motion is a lovely rich chocolate brown. It's like a pair of mesmerising brown eyes you can just fall into and drift away...
SUCH a universal shade. I can imagine this on all eye colours and every skin tone. You can use it as a colour-wash over the socket or to blend out with another colour. Mixed with Autumn Plum or Peach Fetish this looks amazing - don't be shy about blending colours over the top of eachother. Also, a swash of colour over the middle of the eye socket (directly over your iris) can give a wonderful almond cat-eye look with ease. People will notice something different about you but not be able to work out what. Shh! It's our secret - and you heard it from me first ;-)
Mineral shadows are so easy to work with. I have a tissue I hold under the eye to catch any fall-off but this is usually minimised by 'patting' the colour on with a brush or your finger.
This colour is a staple colour & one of the main principle shades that I own. From this shade, many looks follow...
Thrilled to receive this. I use a lot of loose pigment eyeshadows and you have to be SO careful to get your colours right. In order to get the best colour-laydown I apply a cream eyeshadow base first and then apply the pigment shadow over the top. This gives you an intense look immediately and it stays on all day without creasing. I have lots of shades from this range. The lighter ones such as Honeycomb are fantastic as all-over base colours or simply worn alone for a gorgeous-as-a-kitten look. Choosing a lighter shade takes away the depth of intensity but leaves your eyes fluttery-gorgeous and captivating. Trust me. A little black mascara and some eyeliner and you have the prettiest take on a smokey eye EVER. And you won't see ANYONE else with that look (so long as they haven't read this!). Start a trend - I won't tell that you stole it from me :-)
Inika make very good quality mineral makeup, they have a good shade range and I enjoy the colours that I own. As with all loose powder products a primer or base will help them to stick and minimise fallout, but generally the colour payoff and longevity of these is good.
I sampled the Peach Fetish mineral eye shadow, and it was a lovely shimmering shadow that highlighted my eye lid. It goes on easily, and doesn't go simply everywhere! It also stayed put all day, despite the humid weather and didn't crease. It is small and practical and fits perfectly in my make up bag. This is an excellent product for everyday wear.
I don't have a lot of experience applying mineral shadow and it usually ends up all over my face. This product is great, it goes where you put it and stays there. The colour I received was Peach Fetish and it is great if you aren't used to wearing much make up, it just gives a little shimmer and glow to the eyes. It's fab, and I think that I will be wearing this a lot. The size of the pot is really handy, and easy to put in your make up bag. A great product.
I received the colour HoneyComb in my beauty box and was really thrilled at getting a mineral eyeshadow, it comes in a cute little sifter jar too. The powder applies really easily and goes on in a thin layer and I did not notice any creasing or fading after wearing it for some time. I thought this colour would be a basic beige to then layer other colours on top, however it is very iridescent and looks lilac in some lights. Very pretty colour, but may not be everyone's cup of tea. I'll be looking into other mineral eyeshadows after trialing this one.
I'm not usually one for eye shadow however after receiving this is 'Honeycomb' in my July beauty box, that has changed. I have loved using this as a highligher giving a beautiful shimmer effect. Perfect.
I received this in honeycomb and it's a really nice subtle shade, which is great as a highlighting colour. I hadn't tried mineral eyeshadow before so I was actually quite impressed by the longevity of it and how such a small amount goes a long way. Overall I'm quite impressed.
I got the Peach Fetish in my beauty box, it isnt a colour I would have normally picked given it is so light, but this is where this service excells, I love it - its an almost sheer colour which sparkles beautifully on the eye lids, I also find a light dusting as a cheek highlighter looks irredescant. I dont usually wear eyeshadow in the day, but I cant resist putting this one on, it really awakens my eyes. I also have Gun Metal which I have been using for a white and is my evening shadow, this works great with the Peach Fetish (I apply the Peach Fetish to lids and brow bone then Gun Metal in the corner of lids) What is so even more brill I am packing for hols & these take no room!
I received this in peach fetish, its a gorgeous colour but i find it works best as a highlighter, it reminds me of bareminerals clear radiance which i love and even though its a little pot you only need a tiny amount so i can still see it lasting a while using it as a highlighter.
I received this eyeshadow in my July beauty box. I was going to a 40th birthday party on Saturday so decided to try it out. I could not believe it when I got home later that evening - it hadn't creased, faded - not even moved and my pencil eyeliner which usually rubs off was also still intact on top of it - brilliant! I am now sold on mineral eyeshadow and am even going to try the foundation!
