Stress is a broad brush term we use to describe when we are feeling under pressure emotionally. 'Stress' isn't an emotion itself though, instead it usually describes a state in which we are not dealing with a particular emotion we are feeling.

Step one to beating stress is to understand exactly why you are feeling it. When I dig a little deeper I usually find that I am anxious when I feel stressed...taking care of the reasons why I am anxious helps to alleviate the pressure I feel.

- make sure your routine includes a little time for you - even if that just means sitting in a quiet room undisturbed for a few minutes each day. Ignoring ourselves only compounds stress.
