About Ila

ila was founded by Denise Leicester who began her career as a nurse. Many experiences have contributed to her increasing knowledge and interest in healing through natural energy. For four years Denise was a nurse to the royal family in Dubai. Then she established her own aromatherapy clinic in London and started to develop her own products.

A debilitating illness led to a complete rethink of her life, leading both to greater spirituality and to practical management of wellbeing through yoga, the avoidance of pollution and the quest for purity in her healing ingredients. Her health improved as a result and this confirmed to her the need for a new direction based around greater purity, energy and balance through natural ingredients.

At the heart of her quest were the Himalayan salt crystals she had discovered during a visit to India. Denise was amazed by their healing qualities, as well as by their longevity, and she started combining ideas for products with eastern philosophies and practices. Healing products emerged, using the purest essential oils, to create physical and mental benefits.

All this led to ila. The product range demonstrates Denise's beliefs in the therapeutic power of ancient traditions and pure organic ingredients.
